Blog Introduction

Meta book cover Welcome!!!

I am a clinical psychologist and author. In my private practice I have supported many victims of domestic violence on their journey. They not only became survivors but found ways to use their experiences to grow strong, find happiness and reach their goals. It is my intention to use this forum and my book Metamorphosis: Journaling the Path From Domestic Violence Victim to Victor to provide support to those on this journey who will never walk through my doors.

If you can’t afford to see a therapist this blog is for you.

If you are a man afraid to talk to anyone about your experience this blog is for you.

If you are in some remote location without easy access to help this blog is for you.

If you know someone who you think is a victim this blog is for you and for him or her.

If you are seeing a therapist but can use a little more support this blog is for you too.

IF YOU ARE STILL IN A DV RELATIONSHIP

Please keep your safety in mind first and foremost. If you are using a computer at home erase any signs that you have visited any websites regarding DV, even if you think that the abuser doesn’t know your password or is not computer savvy. I strongly suggest you access DV sites from a friend’s computer or in a public venue like the library or an internet cafe. Learn more about internet safety.

Use the “leave this site quickly” button on the left to be guided to a site that abusers won’t mind.

About Domestic Violence (DV):

If you are reading this it is likely that you are either a victim, a survivor or close to someone who is or has been in a relationship clouded by domestic violence. Much has already been written on the definition of DV so I will not spend time providing definitions or statistics here. If you are not very familiar with DV please check out some of the links that I have provided. There you will find in-depth definitions and statistics regarding DV.

Please leave feedback on the blog posts,

I want to make sure that the information I am providing is helpful.

May the words that I post provide you with
peace, strength and understanding.
