June 24th, 2011 From Domestic Violence through homeless to college grad.
For some children who live with domestic violence school becomes a place of peace and safety. Yenthl and her mother Maria escaped domestic violence but then lived for two year staying in shelters or living in their minivan. Despite the challenges of domestic violence and spending the last year and a half of high school without a home, Yenthl graduated from high school, hiding her homelessness from friends. In May of 2011 she graduated from college with a degree in biology and plans to soon go to medical school. Read more of this inspiring story.
