Self-Confidence Journal exercise: Getting reconnected with your gifts

Self-Confidence Journal exercise: Getting reconnected with your gifts

Make a list of all of your gifts, all of the abilities that are especially yours. If you don’t remember what they are then think back to your childhood, adolescence, and early adulthood. What did you enjoy doing? Singing,  dancing, drawing? How did you like to express yourself? Writing, painting,  building things? What types of things did you get positive feed back for? What where your favorite or best classes in school? Some of us only have one gift and some have many. What matters is that you rediscover that gift if domestic violence stole it away. Once you have your list of gifts make a plan to reconnect with the gifts that brought you the greatest joy. Make a note of how you can get reconnected. Take a dance class if dancing is your gift. Buy some new art supplies and set aside time to draw. If math was your favorite class, look into number puzzles. Planning then following through on your plans to reconnect or strengthen your connection with your gift(s) will also strengthen the confidence you have for yourself and your abilities.
