April 1st, 2011 Domestic Violence death of an 18 year old
The shooting death of Charney Watt kept the track star and cheerleader from achieving her college dreams. This tragic loss highlights the need for domestic violence education. If we can help boys and girls to understand what is and is not healthy in a relationship before they start dating we may be able to prevent such tragedies. I am not offering a simple solution to a complex problem. However, especially for those who have a family history of domestic violence engaging in the conversation about what is healthy may help some understand that behaviors such as jealously are not equal to love.
